2016: CVMA Receives Massachusetts Nonprofit Network Excellence Award

Children’s Vision Massachusetts Coalition Receives Excellence Award in the category of Collaboration

Children’s Vision Massachusetts Coalition  has been honored with Excellence Award in the category of Collaboration at the 2016 Massachusetts Nonprofit Network Awareness day at that State House on June 27th. Finalists were selected from over 200 nominations and seven awards were presented out of them. The program included remarks from Senate President Rosenberg, House Speaker DeLeo, Secretary of Education Peyser and members of the business community and non-profit sector.   

Coalition Co-chair Bruce Moore, OD, New England College of Optometry accepted the award on behalf of the coalition and filled capacity audience with valuable information about vision through his speech in the Hall of Flags. Dr. Moore was accompanied by Co-Chair Kathy Majzoub, Director of Prevent Blindness Northeast Region; coalition members Erin DiSanto, HR Manager at Community Catalyst and Health Care for All; Priscilla Kelangi, Manager of Communications and Resource Development; and Anne Sheetz, MPH, RN, NEABC, Retired Director of the School Health Services at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.

The Coalition was also recognized through presentation of three citations from Rep. Christine Barber, Rep. Alice Peisch, Co-chair of the Education Committee, and Rep. Michelle DuBois at a reception before the event.
